Music makes Lorde part of our team

The 17-year-old New Zealand singer Lorde has certainly made her way into the public eye as well as radio air waves. Whether you find yourself humming “Royals” to yourself in the car or watching the atrocity that was her Grammy’s performance, she has snuck her way into your life.
Many people only associate the song “Royals” to her as if she is some one-hit wonder, when actually she has many other songs that are just as catchy. Some of her other songs, such as “Tennis Court” and “Team” have also made a few appearances on the radio.
Her album “Pure Heroine” was released in September of 2013, and in December of 2013 an extended version of her album was released, now including the songs “No Better”, “Bravado”, “Million Dollar Bills”, “The Love Club”, “Biting Down”, and “Swingin Party”.
Almost every song has a sort of synthy- alternative sound to them which is honestly quite enjoyable. Another great aspect of the album is the maturity of her voice, even though she is only a teenager. Lorde is definitely one of the break out artists for the 2013 year and is planning on releasing more music soon.
If you ever feel like listening to a chill album that isn’t about twerking and how awful high school relationships are, make sure to pick up “Pure Heroine.” I’m sure you won’t regret it.
