Mockingjay: Part 2 ignites a flame

Tori Bland, Staff Writer

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 was released on November 20 and took home $45 million opening night. Compare that to the $55 million that Mockingjay – Part 1 took home on November 21 of last year. Part 2 made the least amount of money on opening day than the others. Catching Fire was the most popular with $70 million opening night. The first installment, The Hunger Games, was awarded $67 million on opening day back in 2012.
Though the numbers disagree, Mockingjay – Part 2 was stuffed full of entertainment. Well, if you classify peril and heartache as entertainment. The story starts off right where Part 1 ends. Katniss and friends set out to the Capitol to take down corrupt leader, President Snow. During this mission, there are several things standing in the way. Lizard mutts, death, violence, and more death. Fair warning, it gets a little emotional.
This cinematic adaptation has an ending that only those who have read the books foresee. If you have been a fan of The Hunger Games trilogy, then you will obviously admire the filmography of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.
