Drug Free Communities

“We aren’t only about being drug free.”

Do you want to help out in your community? If you are drug free and passionate about helping others, Drug Free Communities (DFC) is the perfect club to join.

DFC will teach you how to be a leader in your community, how to better the community, and how to help reduce substance abuse in Allen County. You will also help make the students and schools accountable for any drug or alcohol related incidents. Not only will you be working on reducing drug use, but you will learn skills on how to de-escalate situations and how to help people who are thinking of taking their life.

Our Iola DFC action team will meet up with Moran and Humboldt to work in the community, and join us in community conversations.

DFC meets every Monday, starting in November, in Jaime Westervelt’s room, 201. See her about applying. Applications are due October 2. You have to fill out a short, informational form, and will be interviewed soon after. “Anybody can join that will take the pledge seriously,” said Westervelt. If you are what this club is about, you won’t have to sweat it!
