This year there are a almost 30 students participating in forensics. In forensics, there are different events that you can do. There are a total of 10 KSHSAA events that you can do: extemporaneous speech (domestic and foreign), informative speeches, original oration, oral interpretation of poetry, oral interpretation of prose, humorous solo acting, serious solo acting, duet acting (humorous and serious), improvised duet acting, and impromptu speaking.

Sophomore Chloe Reeves says she joined forensics because, “A lot of my friends were in it and I quickly started to love performing.” This season, Reeves is looking forward to hanging out with her friends and to hopefully do better than she did last year. Reeves will be doing and original oration and an IDA. “My advice to anyone who’s afraid to join is to just try. Forensics is something you either love or hate, but you never know until you try,” concludes Reeves. If you are interested in joining be sure to talk to drama and forensics teacher Regina Chriestenson.

The first meet is going to be on January 21. Forensics has also just started a fundraiser to help out with the season.
