On Saturday, September 10, Iola High School hosted a varsity volleyball tournament, and Iola had some ups and downs. The Iola Fillies played against Prairie View, Pittsburg, and Burlington.
“I think it went better than our record indicates,” stated head coach Jeff Fehr. “Tournaments, especially morning tournaments, are hard coming off of the first home football game and getting rest. We also had two of our players fighting sickness, and I think we were tired.”
The Fillies record on Saturday was 1-2. “From a volleyball player’s point of view, I’m happy with what we did [the tournament], but I feel like there are things we could work on,” said senior player Sydney Wade.
