“We like messing around during practice,” Shields said, “but when we have a match, it’s serious,” says freshman CJ Shields. This Thursday, Dec. 14, will be the first IHS home wrestling match, beginning at 5:30. With a whole new crew of freshmen, Iola’s wrestling coach is planning to build a whole new, dominant program.

Head coach Jason Bates was the freshman’s coach during their middle school years.

“The freshmen learn more and feel comfortable around someone they know,” says Shields.

Admission for adults will be $4, and student admission will be $3. Concessions will also be available.
