On September 9, Candidate Ryan Eyster said, “I didn’t think I would be selected for candidate. I’m really grateful.” Brooklyn Storrer believes that the candidates “are the future of Iola.”

Senior ladies Toni Macha, Riley Murry, Sydney Wade,  Jadyn Sigg, Alexis Heslop and Storrer were selected as homecoming candidates. Senior gentlemen Joey Zimmerman, Chase Regehr, Seth Sanford, Rhett Allen, Ben Cooper and Eyster were also selected by the senior class.

Next Friday, September 23, we will get to meet our candidates. Spirit week will be from September 26 through 30. It will start out with lazy Monday, next is toss up Tuesday, Wednesday is wild west day, Thursday will be tourist day, blue and gold day on Friday, which is also the day the king and queen are crowned.

Dianne Kauth is in charge of student council, who puts on homecoming. Kauth says that the “whole student body gets to vote” for the king and queen. The homecoming king and queen will be announced at 6:15 p.m., Friday, September 30 prior to the homecoming game. The homecoming game is at 7:00 p.m. and the dance will be on Saturday, October 1.
