Iola High School parking lots were repaved in the last couple weeks. The students were upset about being asked to move their cars several times before the repaving of the lots actually happened.

District director of operations Scott Stanley said that the repaving of the lots was rescheduled because of ”weather. When we had all that rain a couple weeks ago, the water seeped down through the cracks. If [the workers] put the material on and it’s too wet, then it’s too sticky for the kids to park on the next day.”

“It will help keep the weeds down and keep it usable for years to come,” said Stanley. The money to repave the IHS parking lots came from Capital Outlay. Capital Outlay is tax money that is used to repair or upgrade prime assets in a business. The repaving of the lots started Wednesday, September 21.
